Favorite subject in school

Favorite subject in school
My favorite subject is probably math. Math is also my best subject. I skipped a grade in that subject. Now its actually starting to challenge me. It makes me work harder to keep an A. Some people in my math class hardly past others get all A's. Im right in the middle, I don’t have a terrible grade but it could be better. I've managed to keep an A- average this year, by the end of the quarter ill make it an A.

Literary Anaylisis

Mary Poppins Literary Analysis
By Bennett Eldredge

All of the sudden the wind started blowing and it got dark. All the nannies waiting for the interview were lifted off their feet and blown away, seconds later Mary Poppins came flying in on an umbrella just in time for the interview. That is a scene from the well known movie Mary Poppins by P.L Travers. This movie is considered a romance through both its plotline and its symbolism, I didn’t think that it was romance the first time I saw it.
One main reason this movie is considered a romance is the plotline. A romance plotline starts off with a minor conflict, then the problem is resolved and there is life symbolism. In Mary Poppins the minor conflict is that Mr. Banks doesn’t have time to spend with his kids. The resolution is that Mary Poppins comes and eventually Mr. Banks sees that he needs to spend more time with his kids. This resolved the problem and showed life symbolism which is exactly what is on a romance plotline.
Not only did it follow the plotline it also followed the romance chart of symbolism. There are things like flowers, parks, drawings, singning, and much more. These all are things that can be found on the romance chart of symbolism. There are even animals that follow it like ducks, pigs, and even penguins. Almost everything in Mary Poppins followed the romance chart of symbolism.
To be a romance it needs to follow more than just the plotline and the chart of symbolism, it also has to have the characteristics a romance has. The most obvious characteristic is fantasy vision. In Mary Poppins people are flying and going to other worlds through paintings. Another characteristic is that the main character is in control. Mary Poppins is always in control in what they are doing. The movie Mary Poppins has the characteristics it needs to be a romance.
This is one of many movies that doesn’t seem like a romance but is. Most people think that since it isn’t romantic it isn’t a romance. That is not true, romances don’t have to be romantic the same thing applies with a comedy. The plotline, characteristics, and chart of symbolism show that this movie is a romance.

SNOW

Snow
John was walking his dog around the neighborhood. It was lightly snowing, adding to the foot and a half that was already on the ground. "Thump" john grimaced looked around then kept walking. "Thump", again, this time in the back of the head. John was done, he let go of his dogs leash and ran in the direction of were he thought he had been hit from. He turned a corner and found a group of teen agers. Before he could run they pinned him down. Face wash. John lashed out with his fist in the general direction of the one holding him down. His fist came in contact with the kids face. The others scattered. John got up and finished walking his dog

JUNGLE

Jungle
"Where am I", is what John said shortly after he woke up. He sat up, in front of him was an endless variety of unknown vegetation. He turned his head and looked behind him, the same thing. He stood up but ducked back down as a brightly colored bird flew inches above his head. He decided he would leave before the bird decided to come back. After only an hour of trudging through the thick vegetation John felt more exhausted then ever before. He came to a clearing and decided it would be a good place to make a shelter. After hours of gathering he finally had the materials he needed to build a fire. He pulled a lighter out of his pocket that was usually used for cigarettes and lit the pile of brush he had gathered. John woke up to the sound of a helicopter. Luckily his fire worked as a signal. He was safe.

story starter

It was a windy day when the man crossed the road and went into the bus station. He was unaware of the person following him only paces behind. Shortly after he got home there was a knock on the door. The door swung open. There was a loud bang then the man in the house collapsed to the ground. The man had done as he was told. On the way back he collected a large amount of money for what he had just done.

language

Spanish
This year I did not take a second language. I have to next year though because we are required to take one second language in middle school. I think ill do French because id like to try something new besides Spanish. If I had the choice I wouldn’t take any second language. I think it would be to difficult to learn a second language, but it would also be cool to know how to speak two languages. I think that I would get confused if I was bilingual, I would probably end up using English wile I'm speaking French or the other way around. I personally am fine only being able to speak one language.

Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs
He was trotting through the jungle unaware of his surroundings. The raptors had been following him for hours waiting for the perfect time to strike. He came to a clearing and decided he needed a rest. He fell asleep. The raptors crept up on him. The jungle was the last thing that the man would ever see.

Video games

Favorite video game
My group decided on the topic video games, unfortunately I didn’t want this topic. I really don’t have a favorite video game. I don’t play them very often and my mom won’t let me buy any good games. Although I don’t have a favorite video game I still like to play them.

Sports

There were 10 seconds left in the game. John was down 53-55. Time out. He stepped out on the court more nervous than ever before. The whistle sounded and the ball was in bounded to him. Not listening to what his coach said he sped down the court determined to win the game. John shot. The crowd went silent as the ball soared through the air. 56-55 now all that John had to do is get the ball back and the game would be his. They in bounded it. The point guard was beating John’s whole team up the court. He shot. The ball bounced around the rim several times before it came down. The crowd went wild, he had missed the shot. John won.

Patriotism

Patriotism
The only way he could save his squad was by giving his own life. Terrified, he ran out into the open directing the attention of the enemy towards him and away from his squad. There was a loud clatter of gunfire than he fell to the ground as the rest of his squad escaped the terrible ambush. This is an example of patriotism. If this man didn’t do what he did both him and his squad wouldn’t have made it. Patriotism still matters because if people didn’t have it our country would no longer be united.
When most people hear the word patriotism they think about the men and women in the military. If those people that are in the military didn’t have patriotism they probably would not be there. If we didn’t have a military our country would have less power. Less power could lead to us getting pushed around by other countries. That would make the citizens in the U.S angry. Angry citizens would argue, they would dislike their country and most importantly they wouldn’t be united.
Most that are in the military have patriotism. They are willing to help their country no matter what it takes. My grandpa was in the military but never did anything dangerous like go to war, but he still had patriotism. You don’t need to be in the military to have patriotism. You and I can have patriotism too. Patriotism is when someone is loyal to their country. Some people have it others don’t.
I do not understand why some people don’t have patriotism. It could be that they don’t believe in it. Maybe it’s against their religion which wouldn’t make any sense at all. It’s not my decision if someone is patriotic or not but all I know is that I am patriotic.
