Turning Point

Authors Note: This writing piece is about the importance of a quote in the short story Thank You Ma'am by Langston Hughes

"Roger looked at the door- looked at the woman- looked at the door- and went to the sink" This quote is the turning point of this story. It is when Roger the main character's mindset completely changes. Earlier in the story he consistently tried to escape the woman. This shows that he is no longer trying to escape,  which means that his mindset has changed. He realizes that it might be beneficial for him so he decides against escaping. At the end of the story he had ended up learning a lesson from this experience.

  1. I liked how you said him going to the sink was the turning point. You could have used more examples. I liked the word choice.
